When your computer system is unable to start due to hard disk failure, crash, or other reasons, you can use Veeam recovery media to recover your operating system.
What is Bare Metal Recovery?
Bare metal recovery is a data recovery and restoration process that allows you to restore a failed computer system on existing or new hardware.
Below is the link to how to create Veeam Recovery Media for Windows.
Restore Computer using Veeam Recovery Media
1. Insert Veeam recovery bootable media, for example, a USB flash drive, into your computer, restart your computer and boot with the USB flash drive as the first boot device, and wait for Windows to load the file from the Veeam recovery media.
2. Select “Bare Metal Recovery“.
The backup file will be located automatically at the backup location; otherwise, you can browse and select the backup file if it is stored locally, then click Next.
If your backup image file is at a remote location, then you can select Network Storage. You need to configure network settings and, if the network adaptor is not showing, you need to install network adaptor drivers. Specify the settings for the network shared folder.
At the restore point, select a restore point from which you want to restore the data. We have only a full backup restore point selected and click Next.
At the restore mode, select restore mode. You can select the entire computer to restore, but we want to restore only the system volume of the operating system, so we will select “System volume only” and click Next.
Review the summary before restoring the data and click “Restore.”
Bare metal restorations are completed, click Finish.
It will ask you to reboot the computer. Click Yes to restart the computer.
Veeam Agent for Windows allows you to restore your computer or laptop with the help of Veeam Recovery Media. It’s a very good feature to have in case your computer system is unable to start due to hard disk failure or for some other reason.
