1. System Requirements

Before you start the installation process, let’s see the minimum system requirements to install the Windows 10 operating system.

Processor: 1GHz or faster.
RAM: 1 GB for 32-bit or 2 GB for 64-bit.
Hard Disk Space: 16 GB for 32-bit OS or 20 GB for 64-bit OS.
Graphics Card: DirectX 9 or later with WDDM 1.0 driver.
Display: 800 x 600 resolution or higher.

2. Create an USB Installation Media

You can install Windows 10 by creating bootable media such as a USB flash drive or DVD that contains the Windows 10 installation setup file. To create the bootable Windows 10 installation media, follow the link below.

3. Booting from Windows 10 Installation Media

Insert your Windows 10 installation media into your device and then go to the computer’s BIOS or UEFI. These two systems allow you to control your device’s core hardware. Usually, you need to restart your device and press F2, F12, or Delete keys as your device boots up, but if you are unable to do so, then check with the device manufacturer’s website.

Once you have access to BIOS or UEFI, you need to search for the boot order and make sure the first boot device should be a USB flash drive or DVD drive that contains the installation media. Finally, you have to save the settings and reboot your device. It will load the Windows 10 installer file.

4. Windows 10 Installation

1. Enter your language and other preferences and click “Next.”

3. Enter the Windows 10 product key. If you don’t have the product key, then select “I don’t have a product key.”

4. Choose the Windows 10 edition that you want to install and click “Next.”

5. Select “I accept the license terms” and click “Next.”

6. Choose “Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)“. If this is a fresh installation or if you’re upgrading from an earlier version of Windows, then select “Upgrade: Install Windows and keep files, settings, and applications“.

7. Click “New” and create the partition to install Windows 10.

9. Wait for the Windows 10 installation process to complete. It will reboot your device several times.

Windows 10 Post Installation Setup

After the Windows 10 installation is completed, there are a series of post-installation setup steps you have to follow.

1. When your device starts after the installation of Windows 10, it will ask you to choose your region. Select your region and click “Yes.”

2. Choose the keyboard layout and click “Yes.”

3. If you want to add a second keyboard layout, then click “Add layout” or else click “Skip.”

4. Choose how you would like to set up the device to be used, whether it will be used for personal purposes or for an organization, and then click “Next.”

5. You can use your Microsoft account or create an offline account, then click “Next.” We are creating an offline account.

6. If you want to enjoy the full range of Microsoft apps and services, then sign in with a Microsoft account or just go with “Limited experience“. We are going with limited experience.

7. Specify the username and click “Next.”

8. Provide a strong password and click “Next.”

9. Confirm your password and click “Next.”

10. You have to choose three security questions from the list of available questions, answer them, and remember them, then click “Next.” The security questions will help you recover your account in case you forget your user account password.

11. Choose privacy settings for your device and click “Accept.”

12. If you want to use “Cortana,” click “Accept” and if you don’t want to use it, click “Not now.”

13. Wait a few minutes for the Windows 10 desktop screen to appear, and it will look like the below image.
