Linux Elementary OS is a free and open-source operating system that is completely free to use for personal or commercial purposes. It is an easy-to-use operating system based on Linux Ubuntu and belongs to the Debian family of Linux distributions.

Linux Elementary OS Installation
Insert the Linux Elementary media, restart the computer, and boot with the installation media.
If you want to try Elementary before installing, then click “Try Elementary” or else click “Install Elementary” to install the operating system.
Choose “Download updates while installing elementary” and “Install third-party software for graphics and Wi-Fi hardware, Flash, MP3, and other media” to get the most up-to-date operating system and important third-party software during installation. It will save you time post-installation.
At the installation type, select “Erase disk and install elementary” as this is the only operating system I’m installing on this machine, and then click “Install Now.” If you want to use multiple operating systems, select a separate partition.
Choose your time zone, then click Continue.
Choose a keyboard layout and click Continue.
Enter your name, the computer’s name, pick a user name, provide a strong password, select “Require my password to log in” and then click Continue.
Installation started. Wait a few minutes to complete the installation process.
After the installation is completed, click Restart Now.
Log in with your user account.
Linux Elementary OS 0.4 Loki Interface: The dock at the bottom of the screen indicates current running applications along with the default set of applications.
The user interface is designed with non-technical users in mind and is one of the very good additions to the Linux operating system. The drawback of Elementary is that you will get very limited customization features.
