Exchange Server 2019 Prerequisites

The first step before the installation of any Exchange Server version is to prepare the Active Directory environment where the exchange server will be installed.

1. Download and install the .Net Framework 4.8 version.

2. Download and install the C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2012 and 2013.

If you have installed the latest updates on your Windows server, then there is no need to install the above packages. They will install automatically along with Windows updates.

3. Download and install the Unified Communication Managed API 4.0.

4. Install the Remote Administration Tools. Open the PowerShell and run the following command.

The Active Directory forest and domains are prepared. The next step is to run the Exchange Server installation wizard.

9. Select Connect to the internet and check for updates, or if you don’t want to check for updates, select Don’t check for updates right now and click Next.

12. Select Use recommended settings and click Next.

13. Select the Mailbox Role and automatically install Windows Server roles and features that are required to install Exchange Server and click Next.

14. At Installation space and location, you can change the installation location or else leave the default settings, then click Next.

15. You can choose to enable or disable Malware Protection and then click Next.

16. Readiness checks will analyze prerequisites. Wait for it, then click Install.

17. After the Exchange Server 2019 installation has been successfully completed, click on Finish and then reboot the server.

Review Exchange Server Installation

18. Open the web browser and type https://localhost/ecp, then hit enter.

19. Sign in with your username and password.
