Introduction
In this article, we will learn how to check your Windows activation status on Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems.
What is the Windows Activation Status?
Windows activation status shows you the activation status of your operating system, whether it is activated or not, and it also shows what kind of license the operating system is using. We should always use the genuine copy of Windows and not the pirated one.
Types of Activation Methods
There are two types of activation methods: Digital License and Product Key.
Digital License: Microsoft introduced the digital license while upgrading from Windows 7 or 8.1 to the latest version of Windows 10 or Windows 11. Your digital license is associated with your computer hardware and linked to your Microsoft account. By using this method, you do not need to enter the product key.
Product Key: The product key will be in 25-digit alpha numerical format, something like this (A1AAA-1AAA1-AAA11-AAA1A-AA1AA). During the Windows installation process, it will ask you to enter the product key, or you can skip the activation during installation and later on, after the installation, you can activate the operating system.
